Certification and Compliance
When exporting to the EU, wooden products must comply with EUTR/EUDR regulations on the legal origin of timber. The manufacturer must provide a declaration of raw material source.
Wooden toys fall under EU Directive 2009/48/EC and require CE marking, safety testing and a Declaration of Conformity. For adult decorative items, CE marking is generally not required.
Packaging and Customs Documentation
Delicate items should be packed in individual boxes with polyethylene foam inserts, then grouped in cardboard cartons. For shipments to the EU, wooden pallet packaging (ISPM 15) must carry fumigation or heat treatment marks.
Basic document set: commercial invoice, packing list, EUR.1 certificate of origin (grants zero import duty in the EU under the Ukraine–EU Association Agreement), declaration of timber origin.

The most effective channels are: wholesale trade fairs (Ambiente Frankfurt, Maison & Objet Paris), B2B marketplaces (Faire, Ankorstore), and direct outreach to natural goods stores and souvenir shop chains.
Prepare a product catalogue with high-quality photos, dimensions and finishing options. EU buyers typically expect MOQ from 50 units per SKU and willingness to produce under private label.
